DXF/AAMA
A CAD file format for exchanging garment patterns between programs, following the AAMA/ASTM conventions.
DXF is a general-purpose CAD exchange format. The AAMA convention (now maintained as an ASTM standard) defines how the pattern data are stored in it, with layers or codes for the cut line, internal lines, notches, grainline, size and piece name, so that programs such as Optitex, Audaces, Gerber or Lectra can open the same pattern with its pieces and graded sizes. Not every program interprets it identically, so the file should be checked when it is opened.
Example
A brand receives a graded pattern as a DXF-AAMA file and opens it in its CAD software to build the marker.
