Plotter

A large-format printer (or cutter) that prints patterns and markers at full size on a roll of paper.

In garment production the plotter prints the marker at true scale on paper rolls of different widths. The file (PDF or PLT) is sent to a plotting service or to the workshop's own plotter. The paper with the pattern pieces or the marker serves the cutter as a guide for cutting.

Example

A workshop sends the marker as a PDF to a plotting service, receives the printed roll at true scale and lays it over the fabric lay to cut.
