The dress reaches the floor, with a cord-style crossed neckline closed at the front, short puff sleeves and a defined waist with a wide band. The skirt falls straight with a soft flare, and at the back a loose strip of fabric in another color is added as a cape.

It works best in satin or crepe with good drape for the body of the dress, and a lightweight fabric such as challis for the back cape if you want to keep that color contrast. It does well in party, event and bridesmaid lines, and works well in larger sizes thanks to the waist-band cut. The skirt benefits from being cut on the bias so it falls without looking stiff.
