How to start without overspending

What you get from Modeltex

Patterns approved with a real sample (the photo on each product page is the garment sewn with that pattern), an industrial size range already graded, recommended fabrics by garment and prices in US dollars. If the pattern you need is not there, we develop it to order. And if you want to learn the craft, the free patternmaking course goes from the fundamentals to industrial production.

Frequently asked questions

Which patterns are best for launching a clothing brand?

Patterns already approved with a sewn sample and with the full size range, so you do not lose weeks developing patternmaking. It pays to start with a few base styles (a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, a jogger) and derive fabric and color variants from those same patterns.

Can I test the quality before buying the full catalog?

Yes: the free patterns section has real catalog patterns, not cut-down versions, to download, print and sew before deciding on a purchase.

Do I need a plotter to start producing?

No. For a first batch, A4 PDF printed at home is enough. A plotter makes more sense later, when volume grows and taping sheets starts slowing you down.

Do the patterns come with the size range ready?

Yes, the industrial grading is already done and approved with a sample: XS to 4XL for adults and 2 to 18 for kids. On the product page you choose which sizes you take.

How much does it cost to start with digital patterns?

A4 PDF starts at US$23 and plotter PDF at US$47, with the standard size selection; each extra size adds US$4 (A4 PDF) or US$6 (plotter PDF). The exact prices are on each product page in the catalog.
