Does Modeltex do custom designs?
Yes. Besides the catalog, Modeltex develops custom patternmaking: the complete pattern of a garment that is not in the catalog, with the size range graded to the client's size chart and delivered in the format they use (A4 PDF, plotter PDF, DXF/AAMA, Optitex PDS or Audaces ADS).
Can I order a pattern from a photo or from a physical garment?
Yes. A front and back photo of the garment, or the physical garment, plus your size chart (or the measurements of the base size) is enough to quote the development. If there is a particular detail, such as a pocket, a neckline or a finish, add a close-up photo of that area.
Can a catalog pattern be adapted instead of starting from scratch?
Yes, and it is usually cheaper and faster: we start from the closest catalog pattern and change whatever is needed (lengths, neckline, pockets) or move it to your size chart.
What format is a custom pattern delivered in?
In the one you use: A4 PDF to print at home, plotter PDF at true width, DXF/AAMA for any CAD system, Optitex PDS, Audaces ADS, or an MRK marker nested to the width of your fabric.
What information is needed to quote custom patternmaking?
Photos or the garment itself, the size chart or the measurements of the base size, which sizes you need, the type of fabric you will produce with and the format you want for the file. With that, the development and the lead time are quoted.
